Field Trips
Think back to your grade school days. What memories are the most vivid? Was it the day to day lessons in the classroom? More likely, it was those rare and special days when you traveled with your class to an exciting destination- learning by seeing, hearing, and touching the things you’d read about in class.

Field Trips
Field trips inspire curiosity and create an excitement to learn that goes far beyond a single day. When students get to experience history by holding it in their hands or making a tangible item that they can keep, it brings a deeper understanding to the knowledge learned in the classroom.
Plan your trip
A field trip to Old Bedford Village teaches more than history. We offer a variety of group classes that center around STEAM based activities to help students find the connections between the arts and technologies of the past and the emerging skills of the future. One of our most popular educational programs consists of two early American craft classes, one in the morning and one in the afternoon, as well as a tour of the Village. Ideal for school field trips or homeschoolers, students learn about the history of a particular craft or trade and then try it for themselves, taking home the item they’ve made.
This program runs from the end of April to Mid-October. Classes offered are
Candle dipping | Leatherwork | Tin piercing | Native American crafts
